In the Media
I’ve been incredibly privileged to be featured in the media by these fine people:
Oh, man, do I love Skirt! Magazine. I read it. I write for it. It’s seriously amazing – feminist-y and empowering for women while still fun and flirty. What could be better? My essays were featured in the national print editions (April, May and June of 2012) of this fine magazine. Pick up a copy in your town and be sure to support their sponsors!
In April of 2012 I served as the official blogger for MyBridges at the RiverRun International Film Festival. Ten days of movies, creative genius, and celebrity sightings. And parties. And incredible conversations. And dancing. Pretty much the best gig ever.
Karen Elliott, AKA “The Word Shark” is an editor and proofreader, blogger, writer, and grandmother. She was kind enough to feature my post entitled, “40 Things I’ve Learned in 40 years” on her blog. Connect with Karen on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+. See her website at The Word Shark.
Sheri Ann Ponzi is an artist, teacher, writer and the creator of Painting Herself Into Being. I was honored to be featured on her “Love List” (and she is frequently on mine!). You can see the complete list here.
Elizabeth Cottrell of Heartspoken describes herself as a connection evangelist, promoting the real, human connection that binds and heals us. Her website and blog have featured my writing, and you can read my post here. Thanks to Elizabeth for connecting with me and being so faithful in supporting my work in the world.
Andrea Schroeder is the goddess-in-chief of ABC Creativity and the Creative Magic Academy. She is an amazing blogger, artist, coach, and inspiration dynamo. She is also incredibly generous with her time and her wisdom. I feel honored to be featured in her interview series about stepping out of your day job and into your creative dream. You can read the interview here.
In February of 2010 I was honored to be featured in Skirt! Magazine in Winston-Salem, NC. I had a fun photo shoot and everything (I got to salsa dance in the middle of the day in the middle of downtown for the shoot. Neat!). You can read the full article here.
You can hear my actual real-live voice on the BlogTalk Radio show “Spiritual Integration with Life Coach Laura”. Laura Luykx is a life coach in the Winston-Salem area and the owner of Great Door Life Coaching, featuring spiritual integration as an essential part of her important life work.
Bonita Rose is based in Fargo, ND, and fulfills her life purpose through her art, photography, and writing. I was honored to be featured in her Inspired Interview series. You can read the full interview here. Once you’re done reading, please check out Bonita Rose’s website, Etsy shop, and follow her on Twitter.
One of my favorite subjects to write about is how to live the heart’s desire. And I was fortunate to be asked to guest post on this topic for Atmara Cloe’s amazing blog, New World Creations. You can read the post here. And please check out Atmara’s website and beautiful digital mandalas.
The blog Women Going Wild features women who have re-discovered themselves out in nature, reconnecting with their highest spiritual Self. I wrote about my love of the Blue Ridge Mountains and how blessed I was to grow up in southwestern Virginia. You can read my guest post here.
In summer of 2011, Mutual of Omaha toured the US, asking people to record their “Aha Moment”, the moment their life changed for the good. I recorded mine, and you can watch it here.
